FAQ

Q: How does Grace Tea decide where the funds are sent?

We, the Grace Tea team members, were all born in the former Soviet Union. We have an extensive network of trusted individuals and organizations on the ground in Ukraine who are making a difference. Funds are sent only to those whom we know personally or with whom our friends have a close relationship.

When we send grants to churches, we again rely on relationships with people connected to these churches. We interview the pastors/organizers to ensure the funds are used for direct humanitarian needs (not church admin expenses).

Q: What are donations used for?

We focus on providing food and basic necessities (diapers, hygiene products) to victims. We also help volunteers buy fuel to either transport refugees to the border or to deliver necessities to various regions of Ukraine that are suffering most.

Q: Are donations to Grace Tea tax-deductible?

Yes. Grace Tea is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our EIN Tax ID is 45-3355497.

Q: You claim to have $0 administrative costs. How is this possible?

The organization is run by volunteers. All operating expenses (such as running this website) are covered by the founders of Grace Tea. 100% of all donations (minus bank processing fees) goes directly to supporting victims of war in Ukraine.

Q: Are any funds used to support soldiers or the war?

No. We focus strictly on civilian victims.

Q: How were you able to get registered as a non-profit so quickly?

Grace Tea was originally started in 2011 and registered with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) non-profit shortly after. The organization was inactive for the past 10 years but was current with the requirements of the IRS. This allowed us to reactivate the organization as soon as we realized it can be used to help Ukrainian victims.
